Saransh Courtyard‚ is a small redevelopment project along the BRTS Corridor in the western part of Ahmedabad in Gujarat, India. With the BRTS Project of Ahmedabad came some major changes in Building by-laws of the city. The FSI along the corridor was increased from 1.8 to 4, which made this a viable project for redevelopment. The name‚ Courtyard‚ was derived from the design of a narrow building with staggered voids conceptualised in the facade, creating double height open spaces for each dwelling. These spaces are like horizontal courts. But being a small plot of land this FSI was available only if it could have a proportionate road facing commercial development, which was incorporated in the design. This is a single building, 7 storey project with 42, three bedroom units and 2 levels of basement parking. Since it is a small plot, the common amenities like indoor games, a home theatre, a small swimming pool, a gymnasium and a garden have been created on the terrace level.
