Shortlisted among the top 50 entries, The Lunchbox is a competition proposal for a co-working space by Archdais. A dialogue is created with the ethos of the surroundings, through a relationship of the occupant with light and the sky, while respecting the needs of a work place.
The site is located by a lake in Whitefield, Bangalore. The proposal is responsive and adaptive to the local climate. The facade of the building, blocks extreme sunlight while framing the view of the lake.
The building brings in Bangalore’s mesmerising sky to its core, through carved out voids. Streets are formed within the building via bridges and corridors, which aim to cultivate a sense of community among the occupants.
The proposal creates work zones that are fluid, versatile and adaptive in use. By clustering of work areas, the offices cater to the needs of business start-ups of different sizes.
