Gopal Greens is a Mass Housing project for people staying near and working in Banas Dairy and a Fodder Industry nearby, in Banaskantha district in Gujarat.
The entry to this site is a thoroughfare for another plot of land which could become an extension of this project or may not. So the internal planning for the site was done to take the main internal approach road along the north boundary of the plot and keep the central open and community spaces along this arterial road while taking perpendicular streets inward to the houses for privacy and security.
In the front of the site, facing the external approach road, is a block of 20 shops for daily needs and the project has 84 bungalows mainly in 3 categories – 3 and 4 BHK individual houses, 3 BHK twin houses and 3 BHK row houses.
Houses facing the common open space have bigger plots to give them a slightly bigger setback from the main thoroughfare for privacy. The front facade of the houses is designed in such a way that even if they are row houses, they look independent from each other, as the elements are not continuous and the common wall is deeply set back. All the houses are oriented in the same direction to follow the basic principles of Vaastu Shastra. Each house is designed to have small front and rear gardens and most bedrooms on the upper floor have balconies.
