MAD apartment is set on the ground floor of a 2 storey apartment in Ahmedabad. The apartments were originally built in 2006 as one continuous building around a large garden free of any vehicles, giving residents the advantage of large verandahs facing the garden.
From existing architectural framework to the interiors and objects within the space, the design caters to specific needs as well as the aesthetic experience of spaces. It is born out of a mutual admiration for the durable ways of nature and materials that possess timeless beauty. The family consists of 4 members with their own unique personalities and aspirations. The design tries to explores the idea of using textures, tones and the sense of touch as tools in the process of conceiving unique micro atmospheres within the existing house for each family member.
